S.M. Dougan was born in Edmonton, Alberta on December 21, 1960. Although Steve enjoyed travelling to many places around the world with his family, it is Parksville, British Columbia that he now calls home.

The desire to learn has always been an integral part of Steve's personality and, as a result, Steve has studied a wide variety of topics including finance, business, real estate, English literature, computers, photography, and carpentry.

"Learning should be pursued relentlessly throughout one's life. Diversity of experience and education encourages the mind to ask the question 'What if?' and then challenges it to contemplate the many possible answers."

For Steve, writing has been a life long hobby, with "Angela's Truth" being his first published work. The first version of this book was completed in 1999. The manuscript then sat on a shelf until mid 2005, when Steve resumed work on the novel. "Angela's Truth" was completed in March 2006. "Angela's Truth" is an exciting thriller that turns Angela's wish into a gripping tale that grabs the reader and won't let go.

"We all exist as the result of our biological parents. Their respective genes are the building blocks of our existence. However, our development is further influenced by the impact of environmental factors - the people in our lives and the events we experience. I asked the question, 'What if..?' and "Angela's Truth" provided the answer."
